NATURAL CONCEPTION & ACUPUNCTURE

If you are trying to conceive via Natural Conception/Timed Intercourse, we can help you determine when you’re ovulating and time acupuncture treatments accordingly.  We may also order blood tests to determine if there are any hormonal or ovarian reserve problems which may inhibit your ability to get pregnant.  Most of our patients chart their cycles and fertile signs using a Basal Body Thermometer and the free software Fertility Friend.

IVF & ACUPUNCTURE

Natural Conception Over 40

"The Twincident" / Natural Conception With Twins at 42

I was 40 years old when my husband & I decided we wanted to start a family. For some reason I was convinced that, despite my age, time was on my side & I would be like a fertile egg pinball machine, able to get pregnant whenever I wanted. Diminished Ovarian Reserve / IVF Pregnancy Over 40

I first went to Abigail for help with my allergies. After she helped my allergies improve, the visits transitioned into Abigail helping me with a myriad of fertility questions and issues.  With her guidance, I went to a great fertility doctor.  I was diagnosed with Diminished Ovarian Reserve (my AMH was less than 0.5). Abigail helped me prepare for several egg retrievals with regular acupuncture and herbs, and treated me both before and after the embryo transfer with treatments on-site.  I became pregnant on the first IVF, at age 43.  I continued to see her frequently throughout my pregnancy and had an incredible easy pregnancy, no doubt aided by Abigail's treatments.  She came to my home for a treatment before I went to the hospital to deliver and she arrived in my hospital room as I went into active labor for support.  After I delivered my daughter naturally, she again gave me a treatment and I had so much energy that day despite having had pulled an all-nighter.  Needless to say, my husband and I would not have the lovely, happy and healthy daughter we do today without Abigail's expertise in acupuncture and emotional support.  She has changed our lives for the better in every way. --Claire Scanlon, Los Angeles

Oocyte Cryopreservation / Single, 38, Freezing Eggs for Later Use

Abigail worked wonders for me!  I was considering freezing my eggs as a single 38 year old woman.  Fertility tests showed a decline in fertility as my FSH levels were rising.  After 6 months of treatments at FLOAT (which included acupuncture, Chinese herbs, supplements, and changing my diet), I was ecstatic to see FSH levels at less than half of what they were when I started (down to 4.9 from 10.5). I completed 2 cycles of egg freezing with minimal side effects, and with those FSH levels near to where they probably were 15 - 20 years ago!  I now have 19 eggs on ice, waiting for me if I need them, when I'm ready to start a family.  The whole journey has been amazing, and I couldn't have asked for better support and a more thorough, whole, and balanced approach.  At first I wasn't sure if it would help my situation, but numbers don't lie!  I'd highly recommend anyone considering oocyte cryopreservation and / or IVF procedures to work with FLOAT first for the most successful results.  -A.C., Silver Lake
