Chinese Medicine is a treatment of choice for all kinds of Women's Health and Gynecology issues. The combination of acupuncture, herbs and nutritional consultation can offer a non-drug alternative to hormonal or non-hormonal Women's Health problems, but we also treat women who are choosing to combine Western medical treatment with Chinese Medicine. We work in conjunction with your other healthcare providers (OB/Gyn, RE, endocrinologist, Primary MD, ND, DO, or Midwife) to come up with an integrated plan of care when necessary.
Following is a list of some conditions for which Traditional Chinese Medicine may offer relief:
- Infertility (See Our Page on Fertility!)
- Irregular Menstruation / Oligomenorrhea
- Menorrhagia (heavy menstrual periods)
- Metrorrhagia (bleeding between periods)
- Menopausal Disorders
- Ovarian Cysts
- Painful Periods / Dysmenorrhea
- Uterine Polyps
- Vaginitis / Vaginal Itching
- Yeast Infections / Candidiasis
NOTE: We have experience treating girls as young as age 11 for menstrual disorders and other Women's Health issues, but all minors (under age 18) must be accompanied by a guardian of legal age to their office visit.

TESTIMONIALS: Women's Health
PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome)
I have had a remarkable journey of health, enlightenment, empowerment and mind and body healing over the past three years of working with Dr. Abigail. I came to her with my struggles of living with PCOS (getting only 3 periods each year), wanting to regulate my period with something other than birth control pills, and confused about my options for becoming a mother. Dr Abigail has treated me as a whole person: I never felt I was getting “cookie cutter” care. Physically I am healthier, my periods are regular (every 30 days) and I feel ready to embrace motherhood when the door opens. I am very grateful to have found such resource other then conventional medicine. FLOAT has always felt like an optimistic and empowering place where fear is not used to participate in healing process; furthermore individuals are treated with dignity.

My experiences at FLOAT with Abigail have been life transforming. As I came into menopause, I had hot flashes, irritability, lack of focus, with a serious side of lethargy. Doctors told me I'd "better get used to it." Being committed to natural and preventive healing methods, the thought of hormone therapy scared the bejeezuz out of me. After six acupuncture treatments and some Chinese herbs, all the symptoms have been lowered to an eighth of what they were, and are continuing to improve each day. I have returned to exercise regularly, moving forward with my career, and have started losing the weight that just would not budge. I feel more like my old self, with an overall sense of well being, and vitality. Thank you Abigail!

Ovarian Cysts (and more)
Okay, the truth: I recommend Abigail to everyone. Close friends, co-workers, people I barely know…and the reason is simple. She is by far the most knowledgeable, talented, and caring person I have ever worked with in her field. And I am a spa-junkie. But from the first time I met Abigail, I was done shopping around. For the past seven years, Abigail has been a trusted partner in my personal healthcare. She takes time to discuss whatever symptoms or issues I am having. She happily answers my questions and offers invaluable insights. And then, the best part of all -- she goes to work, offering up her incredibly skillful and restorative treatments. All the while, encouraging me to participate in the process -- to connect to my own healing energy and harness it. Abigail even detected a medical problem that my own physician missed (a large ovarian cyst), and gently encouraged me to deal with it. As you can imagine, I am incredibly grateful, not to mention lucky. When Abigail told me she was calling her practice “FLOAT,” I couldn’t help but smile. Because that’s how she leaves me feeling after every one of our sessions -- like I’m floating… --A.S., Hollywood
