PREGNANCY & POSTPARTUM
Mother of Two (Soon to be Three) I have been a patient of Abigail’s for over 4 years for general health though the birth of both of my children, and now in the beginning of my third pregnancy. She has helped me with numerous health issues, from overcoming IBS and chronic back pain, to alleviating morning sickness, heartburn, sciatica and headaches during pregnancy. Post-Date Pregnancy While pregnant, I was two weeks overdue for my son’s birth when my doctor starting talking about a hospital induction. Knowing that I was hoping to avoid being induced at the hospital, my doula suggested that I use acupuncture to get the labor started and recommended that I go to Abigail, as my doula had heard good things about her. It turns out that my doula had heard right: I went to see Abigail for an acupuncture treatment in the afternoon, and by evening I was in labor!
After the birth of my son, the constant positioning of my arms and hands to hold and breastfeed the baby resulted in extremely painful tendonitis in my thumbs and wrists. I again went to see Abigail for treatment, and again found her acupuncture to be very helpful in alleviating my problem. In addition, beyond simply treating my post-partum tendonitis, acupuncture sessions with Abigail improved my over-all health and well being, and I left her office with increased energy levels every time. Just as important as the physical benefits I received from Abigail in those early days of motherhood was the emotional support she provided. The advice, comfort, and care I received from Abigail, a new mother herself, helped me in adjusting to the new and rather over-whelming role of mother.

Breech Baby At my 35-week prenatal appointment, we discovered that our baby was in a footling breech position. As I had been hoping to have a non-medicated delivery and to at least avoid a c-section if at all possible, I immediately started researching ways to encourage my baby to flip over. When I called Abigail and explained my situation, she arranged her schedule so that she could give me a treatment at my home within 24 hours. Her manner was calm, reassuring and comforting, and the treatment was relaxing and left me feeling very hopeful. VBAC, Low Milk Supply I just wanted to let you know the good news that my milk supply is up again. Friday was the first day I didn't have to supplement with frozen breastmilk, and by now my supply seems really good and I have a baby who is happy while eating again. Our newborn thanks you too! --A.R., South Pasadena PRIMARY INFERTILITY When I first came to see Abigail, we'd been trying to conceive for over a year. The year began with my 39th birthday, a pregnancy, and a subsequent early miscarriage at 5 weeks. My husband and I were sad, but not discouraged and kept trying. After a few more months, I began to see a general acupuncturist to help with fertility, I gave up caffeine, and I tried to stay positive. But after six more months, and still no pregnancy, I was starting to break down, afraid I had missed my opportune fertility window. I turned 40 and we began to think about adoption and other options, but on a whim I did some internet research and found Abigail through a search for "fertility acupuncturist."
Abigail's website seemed so warm and positive and my husband and I decided that we would make an appointment with Abigail and give it six more months before thinking about a new plan. We also decided to begin seeing a Reproductive Endocrinologist since we had never had any type of testing done on either of us-- and we wanted to confirm that we were both healthy enough to make a baby together. Our first appointment with Abigail occurred the same week as our first appointment with the RE. Abigail proved to be just as warm and positive as her website. She immediately put me at ease, gave me some strict diet advice, a wonderful acupuncture treatment, and a prescription for herbal supplements and weekly appointments. She also sent me for an FSH test, which happily showed that I had plenty of egg reserve.
Meanwhile, while the RE confirmed that I had low FSH and that my husband was healthy, he recommended that we move toward IVF because of my age. We weren't sure we wanted to go this route, so instead, I followed every instruction that Abigail gave me, including eating lots of leafy steamed greens, protein, and taking my herbs everyday.
SIX WEEKS after my first appointment with Abigail, I discovered I was pregnant-- from a test that was given to me at the RE's office! Oh, the irony...Now I am in my 26th week of pregnancy with our baby girl and continue to see Abigail regularly for treatment. I have had a virtually symptom-free pregnancy, besides the usual tiredness and a little soreness in the lower back. At each of my pre-natal appointments, Abigail continues to treat me with a present and caring attentiveness and even massages the soreness out of my lower back at the end of each visit. She is super knowledgeable about pregnancy and birth as well as different medical perspectives on each. She always offers her valuable insights and guidance to the various questions that come up as my pregnancy progresses. Abigail's expertise combined with her unmatched compassion has been a blessing to my husband and me, as the little one now kicking away in my belly confirms for us everyday. Foot Fracture I came to you, Abigail, with an unusual situation: a small broken bone in my foot (the navicular) that had been misdiagnosed, and hadn't healed, for a number of months. My new orthopedist, who had recently diagnosed the break, explained that the problem with healing a broken bone in the foot is the poor circulation in the lower limbs. I decided to forego the surgery that would have limited mobility in my ankle and elected instead to accept a prescription orthotic which he hoped would ease the pain.
I then came to you with a two-part challenge: (1) to help manage the continual pain, and (2) to increase the circulation in my foot in order to promote the healing process. From the second treatment (which was even before I received the orthotic) I began to feel some relief from the pain and now, a few short months later, my orthopedist has happily pronounced that the break is healing nicely.

Arthritis Thank God that Abigail Morgan was called to the healing arts, as she is truly a gifted healer. I suffered for several years with osteoarthritis of the knee, as well as a medial meniscus tear; I couldn’t walk without pain nor go up or down stairs with comfort. Neck Pain I came to see Abigail after a car accident left me with severe neck and shoulder pain. She quickly diagnosed me with torticollis and went to work on me.
