| ABOUT THE ACUPUNCTURIST: Abigail Morgan, L.Ac, MTOM. |
Abigail is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist in the state of California. She holds a Master’s Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Emperor’s College, where she specialized in Women’s Health, Orthopedics, and Chinese Internal Medicine. Abigail started FLOAT: Chinese Medical Arts in Glendale, CA because she saw the need for an Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine clinic on the East side that specializes in one-on-one, patient-centered work.
Born and raised in New York City by parents in the Theatre business, Abigail has an eclectic background. She earned a B.A. in Languages and Literature from Bard College. She was a professional actor between the ages of 15 and 27. She received formal training in medical massage and five-element-style Shiatsu at the Swedish Institute of Massage Therapy in New York City, a program that first sparked her interest in Oriental Medicine.
During her eight years as a licensed massage therapist, Abigail specialized in orthopedic/rehabilitative massage and pre- and post-natal bodywork. She works with each patient to help them create a plan of treatment that best suits their needs. She uses acupuncture along with manual techniques such as myofascial release, acupressure, CranioSacral Therapy, Tui-Na and Reiki in an integrated approach to treatment. Nutritional Consultation is often a key part of her treatment protocols.

Abigail has treated a wide range of patients between the ages of two days old and 100 years old, and has developed protocols for addressing the specific needs of pregnant women, women in labor, and mothers during the post-natal recovery phase. She also specializes in fertility enhancement (integrating the ancient techniques of Oriental Medicine with current Western Medical knowledge) and in Orthopedic Acupuncture, treating a wide variety of both acute and chronic musculoskeletal problems. She is a proud member of the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Abigail lives in Eagle Rock with her husband and two children, both of whom were born at home underwater. |
